Feb 26th:A new bill in Arizona is making its way through the Senate that would force sites like e621 to implement mandatory age verification for all users—or face potential lawsuits. This system would require third-party vendors to verify every user’s age through a government database. Not only is this a massive violation of privacy, but it also introduces serious risks, including identity theft through phishing schemes and other malicious methods. Worse still, we would have no control over ensuring that user data is permanently deleted after verification.

Since e621 operates out of Arizona, this law would almost certainly impact us if it passes. If you want to help ensure that we can continue serving you without being forced to collect personal information, we urge you to contact Arizona’s senators and ask them to vote NO on this bill.

Please help spread the word about this issue and encourage others to take action.

Topic: Why does the doggystyle tag not apply to ferals? Also, why does missionary_position require both partners to be lying?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

According to the wiki page for doggystyle, the penetrated partner must be bipedal and the tag should not be used with feral characters. Why is this the case?

It is very confusing that a post with two dogs in the doggystyle position which doggystyle was named after should not be tagged doggystyle. It goes against common sense and tag what you see. There is the from_behind_position tag which includes doggystyle as a possible position, but this is a less obvious tag to search for and is more obtuse than just searching for "feral" "doggystyle" for specific positions.

Related to this question, why does the "missionary_position" tag require both partners to be lying horizontal specifically? I understand table_lotus_position (standing missionary) being a separate category, but why isn't kneeling allowed within the missionary position tag?

There is a victory_position tag that sometimes applies to kneeling missionary position but, again, this seems counter-intuitive and it only seems to make searching by position more difficult than necessary. Combining any form of missionary position -- standing, kneeling, lying -- in one tag, while having the option of other tags such as table lotus would make it much simpler to search for posts with two partners in the missionary position, unless I am overlooking something. The current tagging situation seems confusing and less efficient for searches.

I'm certain these tags wouldn't be the way they are for no reason. Are there good reasons behind why these two tags are so specific, and why they can't be more generalized to make searching by position easier?

Being more generalised makes searching by position harder when you've got a tag which in practice is used instead ofI've seen users remove other position tags to replace them with an invalid missionary tag any one of 5+ distinguishable positions. I've brought up the possibility before of swapping missionary_position to being more of an umbrella tag for more specific positions because the term is so widespread that keeping it to its established site-definition is unenforceable.

I'll keep saying that tagging needs to account for what things mean offsite because most taggers are just here for the art itself and not digging into site systems.see animal_humanoid at any point after the new upload form

I think ferals doing doggystyle is tagged mounting?

Thank you, I actually didn't know about that tag and I've been here for a while. I'll apply that one to relevant posts from now on.
