Question: Could scarification be used in an image where it depicts someone being branded, but you don't see the scars itself?

I suppose it's possible, but it doesn't apply to any of the images currently tagged scarification.

For the sake of tagging, is scarification the act itself or the aftermath of the act (i.e., the resulting scar patterns)?
Because I can imagine a post with fresh scarification (i.e., fresh bleeding wounds) but not the actual "healed" scars.
We only tag scar when the wound is fully healed.

As far as I can tell, it's both. But none of the examples currently on the site depict the process.
