Topic: All Twitter links to potentially become dead-source

Wow! That must suck for Japan, being by far their main social media. It also sucks for sourcing on this site, and well, any Twitter users. I'm curious if he'll go through with it. post #1730117

Even if he doesn't go through with it, it would most likely scare a few people off the site.

Man, what is his "we need to stop the bots" fetish all about. I can't tell if this is something he actually believes in, or just some way he thinks it'll make him more money.

If it does crash and burn, it would be nice if artists would move to posting on real gallery websites rather than BlueSky.

Elon Musk loves bots, he lets them pay $8 monthly to increase their reach and prioritize their replies.

The insult to muskrats has in a "genius" move saw Unity's fuck up and thought "how can I top that" by unironically suggesting paywalling Twitter.

Remember wen I said I would be signing up for a twitter account? If this paywall is added it ain't gonna happen. Fuck that musky rat.

I'd be impressed to see this happen since every art website in the past few years shot themselves in the foot. Starting from deviantart, then furaffinity, then buzzly which I haven't heard any news from for a while, now artstation

The only site that didn't do anything stupid is pixiv and it doesn't have a perfect reputation either with all the lolicon and shotacon drawings.

With deviantart i assume you mean when they nuked all the old art when they permanently changed to the "new" layout and made the site literally useless as its borderline impossible to find/search for anything there since the layout change.

But i don't understand what FA has ever done as i've been a member there for years and never noticed any change, other than more and more ppl purposely putting scat, diaper, watersports and such stuff under the general furry art category to ensure everyone will see it, instead of putting that stuff into the supplied categories for such stuff.

Which ironically are censored (by Japanese standards). It's polarizing to say that (about reputation) when so many sites are censoring them.

Seriously though, the interface itself is punishment enough, and now tons of artists are behind a invite-only wall (the artists themselves didn't do this, AFAIK). I only have an account on there because it's kind of required when sourcing images. Now even that is getting wrecked.

This is feeling like another dotcom bubble.

They never nuked anything; who's going around saying that?
