A blowout means any explosive ejection, not just diapers and feces.

Not as currently defined and tagged; it's all poop.

AlricKyznetsov is right, let's not argue semantics.

If there's any post with your description in mind, then maybe this should be disambiguated, but I don't reckon so.

A common term being used for a specific kink doesn't stop it from being a common term applicable to other uses, such as a car tire exploding or cleaning out dust of something by blowing air. Better to rename it to something less ambiguous early while it still has relatively few uses (about 1 page of results), than to wait until there's several pages with a fair number of different uses.

Courtesy of OP this tag's been defined and active for 4 years and I can't spot a single tagging outside the intended definition. If we want it called something else then there's the option to alias, but I think at this point blowout is lost as an option for anything other than what it is now.

flat_tire already exists, and dusting covers the edge-case use of air dusters

I will never imagine the phrase "I just had a blowout while driving on the highway" in the same way ever again.

A flat tire is different from an exploding tire, similar to how cum is different from a cumshot (one may include the other, but they're not equivalent; a tire blowout can also include the tire becoming shredded or ripped apart, for there to not be a complete tire to be considered flat). Either way, that still leaves "blowout" as ambiguous about what it can be, and it's best to rename a potentially ambiguous tag before it becomes a problem, to avoid another pool or dock situation.

What are your thoughts on knot?

If it was a new tag with only a few dozen uses currently, I'd suggest the same. But given how long it's been in use here for penis anatomy (and given this is a site with a heavy focus on furry porn, where it shows up a lot), it seems to be pretty well understood site-wide and used quite consistently. That said, if there was a simple way to rename it and get people to use a new less ambiguous tag name, I wouldn't be against it.

That's a good question. Maybe the terms should be considered that it's specific to e621.

That can be fixed, you know... ;)

But from just looking at 'blowout' word, it's not obvious that you're talking specifically about feces. Blowing nose sounds like it would be related, haha.

It should probably be renamed to something more explicitly indicating the intent. Blowout_(butt) would be kind of silly, though, even if obvious in meaning?

A blowout occurs when a diaper or other undergarment has been filled to the point where it is leaking feces.

This tag is not exclusive to diapers, and can refer to any clothing that is leaking feces.

So, hell, it wasn't even what I thought. It seems to require clothing. Why it isn't something like diaper_blowout or the like I guess is because it can also be other clothing.

Correct, it can be any article of bottom-ware, it isn't exclusive to diapers.

I still believe it is unnecessary. As someone else has mentioned, the tag blowout has been active for 4 years and has never been used to refer to a tire. The amount of furry art that needs to specifically tag a tire exploding is so uncommon that I don't think it justifies ripping up the existing use of the tag. The amount of furry art that needs to tag a blowout is, for better or worse, incredibly more common.

The same argument could be made for the tag soiling, which is specifically described as relating to feces and already implicated feces. I do not see a reason why blowout should be treated any differently.

I want to note I'm not a fan of the tag being for what it is either. But it's a matter of it not having been caught by administration when something could have been done about it and the only option remaining for the standalone tag is annihilation.
I'd support feces_blowout if it came with an invalidation or disambiguation of the single-word tag.

Unintended consequences hehe. *imagines a bunch of blowout fetishes for each kind* Snot fetish!

Yeah, only reason I think an alias makes sense is so that it's more clear what it means to those not familiar with the tag... before they actually see the images. I assume that it hasn't been heavily mistagged, though.
