Topic: [APPROVED] Tag alias: inner_side_boob -> inner_boob

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag alias #64211 inner_side_boob -> inner_boob has been approved.

Reason:

  • inner_boob and inner_side_boob describe the same thing
  • inner_boob has five times as many posts
  • inner_boob would help distinguish the tag name from side boob
  • inner_boob is a shorter tag name

"inner side boob" gets a lot of use outside of e621, but there are fashion sites that use the term "inner boob" for clothing exposing the inner sides of the breasts.

EDIT: The tag alias inner_side_boob -> inner_boob (forum #379128) has been approved by @slyroon.

All the *_boob tags should be single words. No one says "side boob" or "under boob"—they say "sideboob" and "underboob" etc.

I'm just following the existing aliases, underboob, sideboob and backboob are aliased to the respective *_boob tags.

My guess is that it's to make the tag names more readable and help prevent typos that would be harder to detect at a glance, but I don't necessarily disagree with you.

Oh, I know, I just felt the need to bring it up.

TBH I read the title and was like "what are either of these tags supposed to mean?"

I guess 'inner side boob' is slightly more clear (as I think it could be argued that 'inner boob' could be applied to a front view and in that case the inner *sides* would be barely shown), but neither of the options here seem like good tag names.

(also seems oddly specific, but I know that is just Tuesday on e621)

Should inner_boobbe aliased to full_cleavage? Both tags cover the same thing. full_cleavageeven mentions inner side boob in its wiki.

I don't think "full cleavage" is specific or evocative enough, and it's not really a term used by itself outside of e621 as far as I can tell ("full cleavage dress" nets some relevant results, but so does "deep cleavage dress" and "inner boob dress"). Inner boob ties back to the popular shirt cut meme and matches the *_boob format for breast exposure.
