It doesn't have any images, so I'm not sure where you're getting the idea that it's a common typo, especially since it seems like it's hard to do accidentally.

I wonder why. You really have to go out of your way to type "ê", even on French AZERTY keyboards.
I'm willing to bet that everybody on this list is Brazilian and autocorrect did this.
