Topic: what the hell is a twimg and how do I make one! (solved)

Posted under e621 Tools and Applications

Hello I was wondering what a twimg is and how to get one. When using source links from Twitter, it later gets changed to a twimg and usually fallowed by a penlizeation. So how do I make a twimg and get it correct on the first try, so people don't have to manually change it

Updated

first: go to as many possible places that you know the artist uploads to (unless it's a paywall site like patreon or subscribestar, obviously)

and if you can't find the piece outside of twitter; ask the artist directly for a download of their art personally, (and while your at it if they're alright with their art being on e6) and if they tell you to just download the post on their twitter; tell them that birdapp ruins their art and you want their art specifically in better quality

if for whatever reason they're stubborn and won't give, then you'll have to follow the instructions laf gave you

When you get the twimg link search for "small"/"large" and change it to "orig", that's the source.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/<media ID>?format=<filetype>&name=<size>

Links are mostly like this, just change <size> to "orig", press enter to make sure and you can paste it to upload here.

Lafcadio posted these instructions with that link but I understand you are very frustrated.

Ok I figured it out, kinda,

When getting the link for the image DONT use the top bar to get the image, right click the image as if you where saving it, and press open the image in new tab. Don't use the link at the top as your source for the image, it will give you the /photo link.

Then like listed above, change the size format to original.

Something like
... format=<filetype>&name=orig

And that should be everything?

This is correct.
