The tag implication #52666 cryptodira -> turtle has been rejected.

Reason: The suborder that most extant turtles and tortoises belong to, along with many extinct ones.

Since cryptodira includes most living turtle species, if we were to go through with this, most of the turtle species tags would have to be moved from turtle to cryptodira as an intermediary tag, which seems kind of pointless. There are only a very small number of living turtle species that are not cryptodira, and I'm not even sure if we have any posts of them, since they're sort of obscure and all of the popular turtles are cryptodira. The only extant non-cryptodira turtles are pleurodira, known as "side-necked turtles," but that doesn't even seem to be a tag. I don't think we need this tag, seems like an unnecessary intermediary fluff tag.
