Topic: Uploading a Deleted Piece of Art

Posted under General

So a short while ago, some of my artwork which I had shared exclusively with people close to me managed to makes its way onto the site without my knowledge, and once I had noticed, took action to have them removed. However, I have had a change of heart regarding such styles of artwork, and would like to post them here myself officially.

Is it possible to upload these pieces again without issue? My main concern is that the system will recognize the image and prevent me from uploading on the basis that it was taken down previously. I don't know much about the inner workings of the site. Thank you.

Uploading something that has been previously deleted certainly isn't a good idea.
Probably best to contact an admin. In this case, since it's reversing a deletion, probably NotMeNotYou.

The uploading system will detect it as being previously posted and prevents you from posting the exact same piece again.*

You could message the mod team and request for that post to be undeleted and be viewable again. However, it will still be "linked" to the account that had first posted it.
This means it would not appear in your personal uploads page, but will still be tagged under your name/artist tag regardless.

* Do not knowingly alter or artificially inflate the artwork to bypass the system check, it will still be considered Posting Abuse (even if you were the artist). Only exception is when you genuinely have a higher-quality version and the one already posted was of a lower-quality.

An admin can change a post to indicate it was uploaded by a different user. It's something the replacement system does when a replacement is made with penalization to the original uploader, but I believe an admin can change it manually without doing a replacement.

I notice that the uploader's name is not visible anywhere on the submission page. or I'm not looking hard enough.

the tag history of a post isn't a 100% accurate show of the user atribution (uploader), user attribution is something else that's mostly invisible. you can see posts that have been replaced via the replacements beta thing will have <user_a> as the person at the bottom of the tag history but if you search user:<user_a> the post won't show up.
