Topic: Furry Porn Games

Posted under General

Is it just me, or have furry porn games really dried up? Ever since Flash died on the internet, games in general are far harder to find. The few that are around seem to be massive undertakings that have been in development for years on Patreon pages and/or their own websites (Kincaid, Forest of Love, Predation, Oh So Hero, Space Escape, etc). Don't get me wrong, the big games are phenominal. I just miss the simple one-off games that happened to have porn in them like K.O. Boxing, Lovesaber, the original High Tail Hall, and even Toonpimp's crap had a charm to it. Doesn't help that there's always a chance that those big games can all suddenly just stop development an never see the light of day (like Love Potion Disaster) or develop in a completely new way that's not nearly as enjoyable (Like how HTH went). Just an observation I made after a while. Also leads me to ask, anyone know of any games like those old flash ones? Or is it all the mega projects like I mentioned? Anyone got an archive I could dig through to see if there were any gems I missed?

Many of this type of games migrated to itch.io to my knowledge, I agree that there isn't the same amount there used to be, so my best guess is that since flash used to offer a low-entry barrier to amateur game developers.

Flash was also fairly light when it came to requirements, and since it ran on your browser, many more people could play your games.

And now that Unity decided to fellate a shotgun, one less thing folks are going to want to use that just works in a browser. Thankfully, HTML5 does most of the shit Flash did, and other WebGL packages can be used for anything HTML5 didn't already do, and I've seen fairly impressive things done with the browser versions of Ren'py and RPGMV.

I imagine there's a lot more than what one can really see on the surface, due to itch.io having... a quite frankly shit tagging/searching system (No exclusion function? Eurgh.) and not being set up to facilitate adult content as more than an afterthought for the most part.

I also noticed a lot of projects didnt have pages set up properly and still expect money. Like I cant tell if this game is a $10 adventure or if its a 5 second loop if i cant see screenshots
Thought flash was hard to get into without dropping a few hundred on adobe animate
If unity is a concern there is godot which everyones moving to. Gamemaker is also easy to enter and was free with limited exports for a while. Now gamemaker seems to soon allow all export options for free if not for a commercial product
