Question: Why don't we tag things not present in a picture, but are expected to be?

Some examples:

• nipples
• genitals
• anus
• arms
• legs
• head (humanoid creatures)
• appendages (toes etc)
• eyes
• mouth

etc

Of course, if you're a total pedant you'll say something along the lines of 'well where to we draw the line for tagging things that aren't present?!'

And I'll say to you, 'use common sense'

To illustrate the need for tags like this, try to find images in which the above mentioned aren't included normally

Some invalidated tags include no pussy, no anus, no nipples, no balls and no feet

Simply put, e621 has a "tag what you see" policy. If you can't see it, it should not be tagged. It's not a matter of "where do you draw the line", but a pretty fundamental policy to the tagging system and the website as a whole.

If you are searching for something using tags, you are not looking for pictures in which said tag is not present. You are looking for the pictures which the tag actually applies to.

Let's say I liked nipples. They hypothetically turn me on. If I search for "nipples", I want to see pictures where you can see nipples. I don't want to see pictures that have no nipples, just because someone else thought that there could be nipples offscreen.

So how do you search for posts of nipples with no breasts?

nipples -breasts?

What if you're searching for something using 5+ tags? (or whatever the limit is), excluding this query?

What about those posts with breasts but not tagged as such?

Would you use another tag to circumvent this?

I don't want to see pictures that have no nipples, just because someone else thought that there could be nipples offscreen.

Then you could blacklist no_nipples and none of those posts would come up

But the person who *does* want to search for posts with no nipples has no conceivable way of doing so

Featureless_crotch is more geared towards the genitals in the front rather than the anus. Put another way, if there is no anus and a pussy you wouldn't tag featureless_crotch, but you would for the other way around.

No feet: featureless_limbs

The only ones out of these that don't seem to have a replacement/equivalent is no_anus and no_nipples with flat chested/male characters. The latter one seems slightly less relevant as nipples seem to be rarely tagged for characters with no breasts anyways (except for flat chested females, and possibly moobs if you want to be technical).

no_anus would probably be something like featureless_hindquarters, wouldn't it? (based off presenting_hindquarters).

Why are the no_* tags aliased to invalid_tag instead of those then?

idk if people are just expected to memorise every single change and specific instance of a tag forever or something

• no_nipples - Because featureless_breasts is a relatively new tag and the alias was done over a year ago. Edit: Males might confuse this.
• no_pussy - Because featureless_crotch is a relatively new tag and the alias was done over a year ago.
• no_penis - Not aliased to anything, but not in use either. May be mix between penectomy and featureless crotch.
• no_balls - Doesn't work with featureless_*, mixed meaning between castration, futa, etc., alias was done over a year ago.
• no_legs - was aliased to legless
• no_head - Nobody has used this one before.
• no_anus - Was done several years ago. I don't personally see an issue with this particular tag.
