Reason: considering we aliased verbal highly-scientific chiropteran, didelphis, and machairodontine names to simplified bat, american opossum, and saber-toothed tigers, should we alias it for consistency?

No, thylacine is the common name of the species
The other aliases you mentioned were scientific names that we aliased to common names (generally in line with Wikipedia). The thylacine's scientific name isn't thylacine, it's Thylacinus cynocephalus.

it's true, but at the same time, i am conflicted with the logic of e6 that there are named animals like rock dove that is more formally used especially primarily in wikipedia as an article name, but e6 keeps the common pigeon tag. additionally, machairodontine and smildon could be argued that it's common name, but whatever the reason in e6, it's aliased to your everyday saber-toothed tiger.
