so i can't see comments like used to back in 2020 on pc
except for when i use the comments tab otherwise it wont even show the show hidden comments button
just COMMENTS and edit like the word comments and then the edit function

there's an option in the advanced settings that called "hide comments" which does exactly that: hides all the comments on a post

try to seek that option out by going to the settings page on your profile and press the big words up top that say "advanced"

if that doesn't work: check the comment threshold in the basic settings and disable any and all extensions if you have any for this site
