When you hide a comment, it will be removed from public display on the site. The only ones who can see your hidden comment are yourself and the site mods and admins.

One last question. Does deleting a DM delete the whole thing or just delete from my screen like a mark as read kind of thing? Sorry if I sound like a grandpa
