When I go to uplaod images, is there a tool to use to check if it's already on the site or not? I tried the similar post finder thing with an image I knew was on the site. I couldn't get it to work. I also tried the source finder tag thing but couldn't get it to work either. So how do I check to see if the image is already on the site? I don't think I can realistically search millions of images manually. But I don't want to upload a similar image, have it taken down, then negatively affect my equation formula because I didn't know it was already on the site. I know I could search by artist, but even with hundreds of images I can still overlook it if it's there. Is there some kind of bot or something that will tell me it's similar or exact as another image before I upload?

Allows you to upload local files as well as check images that have already been uploaded.

If your file is an exact match, you can take its md5sum and use the md5: search operator, which is how the upload form detects duplicates. But this won't work if the files differ in any way (smaller resolution, or even just differently compressed).

I use the built-in tool Wat posted above sometimes, but I use a browser extension made by saucenao which makes a reverse image search right-click menu item. I wish I knew how to add e621's tool to that extension! Here's a link to that: https://saucenao.com/tools/ Saucenao itself is a reverse image search engine which does index e621. But I use it every dang day for... everything lol. From finding originals of reposted memes to identifying anime screenshots

I don't know what md5 or md5sum means. Is that like a different website or search tool?

Edit: I clcicked the link you sent. I tried that thingy already with an image I knew was on here. It didn't pull up anything. Maybe I'm just not using it right? I don't really know how to do it. I just want a simple tool that I can upload an image and it check this specific website for that exact image.

Edit: Edit: Nevermind, I got it to work. I don't know why it wasn't pulling up the other image. Maybe I just thought I had already seen it on here but I guess I didn't? Or maybe I uploaded it worng or something.

For a non-exact match, you can also use the similarity checker (or just search the artist's tags).
