Topic: [REJECTED] Tag implication: leggings -> pants

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag implication #54256 leggings -> pants has been rejected.

Reason: Even though the word has "leg" in it, leggings are not legwear in the sense that they only cover the legs. Leggings are a type of lounge or athletic pants that fully cover the butt and groin.

The wiki for leggings is correct in its definition and description.

The implication for leggings should be changed from legwear to pants.

EDIT: The tag implication leggings -> pants (forum #389595) has been rejected by @slyroon.

That would be an improvement over the current implication. Wouldn't it be better to chain the implications as there are little to no situations where leggings are not considered to be pants? Leggings would implicate to pants which already implicates to bottomwear.

Leggings can, in many cases, also be called gym pants.

Updated

Leggings, tights, pantyhose and other similar articles are hosiery, not pants. Despite current fashions to pretend otherwise.
