Discussions should be had before you create a new tag with hundreds of posts out of thin air, not after

you can make a set before creating a tag as well. that lets you adjust what posts best fall into the tag catagory, see if there is enough images to prove it has good footing and give others a better sense of what you want to accomplish before such an undertaking

i am actually trying this as yesterday i just made a set: dragon_style. i wanna make a better definition see if there are other posts i missed, i also wasn't really gonna say anything and just let my user page advertise it but this would be the best time to use it as an example for what you should try to do

none of the posts have the tag but if it takes off it would be easier to locate all the posts and tag accordingly

and there is also the chance whatever tag you want to create could already exist but it's tagged as something else and someone could see it and point that out for you

Alright, sorry, good to know. Is there somewhere I could read a guide for creating a new tag? I poked around on the help wiki but couldn’t find any guidelines like this. I tried to do my due diligence anyway, searching for potential synonymous tags that already exist, rigorously defining the tag with a wiki page, staring a thread in “tagging projects”, but I would have been helpful to know exactly what was expected.
