Greetings, and welcome to the 2024 Staff Drive!
Last year, we invited anyone interested in helping run e621's day-to-day operations to apply for a staff position. It was fairly successful: after sorting through hundreds of applications and conducting dozens of interviews, we brought seven new staff members on board.
Now, we are looking for new janitors and moderators once again.
If you are interested in joining the staff team, please read this post in its entirety, and then fill out the short questionnaire below. If you applied last time, please feel free to submit another application.
[ Application Form ]
โ
The form will be open for two weeks and accept submissions until the 29th of March.
What we're looking for are dependable people that can regularly spare an hour or so to chip away at the site's post and ticket queue to help ensure everything runs smoothly.
We don't have any strict requirements except that you need to be friendly, helpful, and can keep a cool head when users are upset with you.
Your history on the site will be reviewed if you apply for a staff position. Don't worry if you had a record or two from years ago, though. We believe that people can change and grow over time, and some hiccups in the past are not going to ruin your chances here. However, you need to have some level of activity on your account so we can properly assess you.
The reference code is "watermelon". Remember this for when you are filling out your application.
These are volunteer positions, so your real life should take priority over e621.
The time requirements are not set in stone, and you will not be forced to handle anything outside of your comfort zone.
However, we do expect a minimum level of contribution from all applicants.
In case you are not familiar with the different positions, here are the official job descriptions:
Janitor
Janitors are responsible for the approval queue.
They perform the following tasks:
- Approve submissions that follow the Uploading Guidelines and delete the ones that do not.
- Review and handle post flags.
- Review and handle post replacements.
Moderator
Moderators are responsible for the ticket queue.
They perform the following tasks:
- Review and handle support tickets related to comments, forum posts, and blips.
- Hand out records and bans to users who break the site rules.
Due to the volume of interest we will not be able to respond to everyone individually. If you have not heard from us by the end of May, then your application was likely rejected. However, we will keep it on file and may still refer to it later in the year.
Thank you for your interest.
