I think we DO need a tag that indicates the post could have a potential or current comment war. I don't fucking care I wanna blacklist this goddamn trash:

The only other solution I'll accept is to delete these posts permanently.
Cancel this bur thank you.

The real issue is that users will continue to attempt to create a tag to either find or avoid these posts. You're probably fighting a losing battle here.

That's not an argument since these get reported and handheld.

What matters is how useful is the tag and this tag is VERY useful to avoid the common bottom-tier denominator, I don't wanna see trash like this and I don't think you'd want to see this either.

Well I agree, But that's my point anyway. Users find the tag useful, and if it's removed like all those other similar tags were, someone will probably create another tag that means the same thing, whether to blacklist it, or to stir up more drama. Honestly I believe more would use for the former than the latter. I think Admins are spending too much time trying to control a very small percentage of problematic users.

Would such a tag even apply to those posts? It can't be baiting discourse since comments are disabled, so discourse can't happen which would make me think it doesn't apply.

You can blacklist individual posts. Add

id:4341841
id:3990972

to your blacklist and they won't show up for you.

Besides encouraging comment wars and flame wars, such a tag is going to be subjective. What someone may say is "discourse bait", another may say is "just a statement". It would probably also be subject to tag wars, with people trying to remove it to troll those that don't want to see it, or add it in an attempt to start a flame war where there wouldn't have been one. Adding the posts to your blacklist would be more effective since other users can't meddle with that like they can tags.

There used to be the tag "call_for_violence" which was objective, it was meant to be tagged on every post where there is text that explicitly encourages a violent action ie that reads "kill pedophiles" and such. Without any warning and without consensus the head admin locked it out of many posts that it applied to for political reasons, so now folks use this tag as replacement.

That's pointless and you know it, remove scat and gore from your blacklist and block each individual post and then tell me how that feels?

You know what else encourages comment wars and flame wars? Partisan trash that borders on stochaschic terrorism or outright tells folks to murder vile bastards instead of trying to help them. I really couldn't care less about the message itself and more so that it's shoved in my face! I don't wanna see this damn trash!

You know what else is added to posts intentionally to rile up people? Young, but it's a tag so important it is included in the global blacklist. By your logic, we should invalidate young because it is only going to cause tag wars and irritate folks and is used by trolls to start arguments and tag wars, am I getting that right?

That's not the same thing. Scat and gore are objectively visible things, this "discourse bait" isn't. What's "discourse bait" to one person is "an uncontroversial statement" to another. If people can add or remove it from whatever post they like since there's no objective way to define it, there's no way to control what gets caught by it. Blacklisting it won't prevent you from seeing images like that if people don't feel it applies to those images, but it may prevent you from seeing other images you feel it doesn't apply to that other people do. You even liken it to "call_for_violence", but I see no reason that should relate to "discourse_bait".

No, young isn't added to intentionally rile people up. Young is added for characters that look young, if people are adding the tag just to rile people up when the character doesn't look young, they get told to stop (with records or bans, if necessary).

This is better than nothing or even the politics tag since it'd be a casting a wider net over more topics than this does.

No, we are not keeping tags to designate convenient trolling targets.
Stop it.
