Topic: What was tag "seen023hey" used for, and why was it depopulated?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

Hello. Just a few mintues ago, I posted something by the Twitter artist "seen023hey", it's yet to be approved by staff.

However, as soon as I posted it, a message came up saying that the tag "seen023hey" had previously been depopulated. May I ask what the reason for this is? Were there any works that were posted on e621 that were deleted for whatever reason (perhaps by request of the artist, or unapproved by staff)? Please let me know as soon as possible.

No idea. I don't find it having ever been used before your post. It may be a bug or I'm looking in the wrong places.

Regardless, the artist isn't on the DNP list. I don't find anything deleted so there doesn't appear to be any Takedowns of their stuff. You should be all right.

The tag was created at 2024-03-19T04:42:30.129-04:00 and the post was created at 2024-03-19T04:50:53.548-04:00, assuming that I know how to read timestamps properly there's more than 8 minutes between the creation of each.

I'm not sure how the tag came to exist prior to being used on a post, but any existing tag over 10 seconds old will produce this message when repopulated. (or populated for the first time, in this case)

Yeah. I have a few times created an artist page to dump all the gallery links I've found (and close several tabs) before uploading the first post under that chosen artist tag. That creates an artist tag with zero posts. I don't remember if the "previously depopulated tag" message came up, but I would have ignored it, knowing better myself.

It's just good practice to look for best sources whenever uploading an artist, especially for new artists to e621. Filling the artist wiki with links first is unusual.
