Simple implication on the surface but there's a problem here.

Colgate has a total of four names shown as follows:

Minty Fresh
Colgate
Colgate Minuette
Minuette

The only ones used on the site are Colgate and Minuette but those names still exists so should we acknowledge them and make all four names tags or?

If you google the four names with the addition of MLP then it will show the same pony every time. (Just in case you needed assurance that it is the same pony)

Colgate_(mlp) and minuette_(mlp) are the only ones here that are in use at the moment.

I'd assume you meant alias, but then I realized that this is how it's currently handled on derpi for some reason (though they both have the same tag count anyways). I don't really see any practical reason to keep both names. Either way, I know they refer to the same character so an alias should be pretty simple to do.

Either works for me, but I'd flip it and make it an alias: minuette_(mlp) -> colgate_(mlp)
