The tags aren't the same thing (there can be other beverages other than soda in the sheath), the question is whether the distinction from just beverage_in_sheath + soda is enough to justify its existence

Soda sheath isn't restricted to soda. The wiki page says it can be other beverages and it's tagged on images like post #2302410 which is of a glass of water.
As far as I can tell 'soda sheath' is a memey name for it used by one artist for a specific type of commission with no real restrictions.

It's a blantantly unnecessary tag, unless it gets restricted to soda only.
We already have a tag for the current definition, and the wording is confusing. It implies it's for sodas, so you search it and 'holy shit, that's a keg! Those aren't usually for sodas!'

It should be aliased away, or alternatively, cleaned up and redefined, maybe with better phrasing:

  • alias soda_sheath -> soda_can_in_sheath
  • imply soda_can_in_sheath -> soda_can
  • imply soda_can_in_sheath -> beverage_in_sheath

I was gonna make the same alias request lol
