The bulk update request #7388 is pending approval.

create implication missing_all_arms (439) -> missing_arm (1999)
create implication missing_all_legs (220) -> missing_leg (832)
create implication missing_arm (1999) -> missing_limb (88)
create implication missing_leg (832) -> missing_limb (88)
create implication missing_finger (73) -> missing_limb (88)
create implication missing_tail (84) -> missing_limb (88)
create implication missing_wing (8) -> missing_limb (88)
create alias missing_wings (72) -> missing_wing (8)
create alias missing_limbs (147) -> missing_limb (88)

Reason: Creates implications for current tags that are all missing a limb.

The aliases are to correct plural tags.

Are fingers considered limbs?

Strictly speaking, just arms and legs count as limbs.

From that same page:

The distalmost portion or extremity of the limb, i.e. the hand or foot, is known as the autopodium (plural: autopodia). Hands are technically known as the manus, and feet as the pes.

The distalmost part of the autopodium are the digits (fingers or toes), which have multi-jointed phalanges and are highly mobile in most tetrapods. The ends of the digits are often protectively covered by hardened keratin outgrowths such as claws and nails.

It sounds like hands, fingers, toes are considered limb extremities, but still part of the limbs nonetheless. A missing claw would also count, but nothing's tagged with that. I guess it just matters how strictly limb needs to be defined for the purposes of tagging.

Unless it's better to add a tag for missing_body_part to encompass limbs and everything else, but outside of missing eye and missing ear, most tags for missing body parts are limbs, limb extremities, or have <100 tags and aren't really used. (Technically there's also missing tooth, but calling that a missing body part is kind of stretching it.)
