Topic: Needing help with post relationships

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

I have 4 posts and there are 2 possible orders if there can be only one parent per post:

handjob char1 pov >handjob char2 pov >handjob char1 pov cum >handjob char2 pov cum
or
handjob char1 pov > handjob char1 pov cum | char1 pov > handjob char2 pov > handjob char2 pov cum

I would like to know which order is better for e621, and if there is a way to link [handjob char1 pov cum] to [handjob char2 pov cum] while keeping the second order that was listed above.

here is the post that I made the parent of everything: https://e621.net/posts/4703123

While there aren't any specific rules for ordering, there are a few general guidelines that we follow.

  • Use post relationships if it only involves 2~3 posts. A parent with multiple child alts are fine. Otherwise, a pool would be a better option.
  • Never chain multiple parent-child relations (i.e., post A is the parent of post B, which in turn is the parent of C, etc.). Again, pools are the better option for larger sequences of images.
  • If they are already in a pool, you don't need to include post relationships again unless they are alts of the original image.

For your question, you can maintain as it currently is or put everything into a pool for easier navigation.
