I HATE THIS TAG!

I just want to tag my cute bunnies but because someone couldn't type "anus" and wanting to be cute sometimes I will review my tags and "anus" is there when it shouldn't… it's probably means I need to tag it slower but man does someone really use that dumb tag?

This also could be a request so uploaders could have a list of tags that they don't want to show when tagging so you are faster in tagging what you want.

That alias happened without any discussion, so you might be able to start a conversation around removing the alias. But in reality, that's really an issue with your workflow. Stop tabbing after typing in a tag, that autocompletes the top suggestion.

This is neither a site bug nor a feature request. If anything, it's more of a rant that accomplishes nothing.

If you find tags that shouldn't be there, might I suggest taking the time to review the tags you have added before submitting?
Wanting to tag things fast should not compromise the tagging quality of the post, since you can get into trouble for adding erroneous tags.

I would also suggest pressing space after each tag, rather than pressing on Tab to autocomplete the tag based on the first tag suggestion.
In your case, I believe you have typed in rabbit and then pressed Tab, which autocompletes it as rabbit_hole, which in turn is aliased to anus (see topic #23072 & alias #19137).

If you want rabbit_hole to be unaliased from anus, then make a BUR to suggest it.

I was expecting it to maybe it was created in response to a ticket or something, but looking at THK9's mod actions from that day I'm not seeing anything that would imply it's related to anything else.

it definitely was a one-guy tag, though. I believe that was before the current tag autocomplete stuff was implemented, so it probably wasn't seen as that big a deal to alias it away like this.

Everybody seemed to have missed the thread I linked on my first comment, see topic #23072.

It was the result of one user's mistagging (alongside bunny_buns & bunny_butt) and was aliased without much thought to it.
Two other users raised potential issues with the alias, but nothing came of it.

Next time, if you want the tag relationships changed, make a BUR

The staff has been feeling more motivated lately to clean up and fix older aliases and implications, since some have outlived their original usefulness. So if someone wants to revisit tags like this and help do the work of fixing it, we're cool with that.
