i hadn't, but considering the artist linked their own sfw profile on their nsfw profile multiple times, such as on art pieces, it didn't seem like they had an intention to keep them wholly separated.

A lot of artists who separate their sfw and nsfw aliases do so so that people searching their sfw name don't stumble across their porn, but are fine with people from the porn account finding the sfw account. Best to ask. They might be fine with combining the names on e6, but they also might not be
Is this going to be stuck in limbo? They don't have a linked acc on the site which makes it a bit more challenging to ask directly.

Alias can be denied. Section of the response is below:
"I am unsure how the tagging and stuff works, but I glanced at some of the comments on the forum there and what someone said is applicable to me- I keep these alias separate. I don't want people who follow me on my sfw stuff to find my nsfw stuff, but I am completely okay with people who follow my nsfw to find my sfw."

You can reject it yourself, press alias #69294 and press reject
