Topic: Don't count your eggs before your chickens get pregnant

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

I just created the tag birth counter for a concept that I had assumed to lack a tag, but soon afterwards I found out that abortion mark and pregnancy tally already existed and seemed to have similar meanings. It sure would be nice to have a clear naming convention for that, innit?

What do YOU, my frank forum frequenting friend, believe should be done about this in terms of aliases and/or implications? What sounds better, counter/mark/tally or something else? Please share your thots on the matter.

counter is already in use for something far different, so that can be struck off the list. Using tally does give the impression that only tallys should be included in the tag. Maybe mark might be the way to go, it seems to be a type of markings

I think "tally" makes the most sense here. "counter" to me sounds more like it'd be a display of some sort, and "mark" seems a bit ambiguous overall.

also, tangential, I'm not sure about calling abrortion_mark abortion_<anything>, since, it kinda seems like these are more used in the context of miscarriage, if anything. preferably we'd use a word whose definition fits all situations in which this tag is used.
