This seems much easier to just alias to the species, as we have an avalanche of pal world content. The uses of the many don't outweigh the uses of the few character tags that might get mixed in. Or, the expections should not be the rule.

Well, there's pal_(gym_pals) which have 1/20th of the posts of pal_(species), which I would say is relatively significant.

Edit: Dont we usually not alias the unsuffixed version to the suffixed version?

It does seem like the strong majority of uses for this tag going forward are going to be nothing but pal_(species) but lacking the suffix.

Yes… kinda. There are some scattered exceptions here and there. In this case, having the species being just pal might be a little confusing. In fact, changing it to pal_(palworld) might honestly be the best thing to do. That makes it immediately clear what the tag is for. But still, given the surging popularity of the game, the plain pal tag is very likely just going to be this.
