Topic: [REJECTED] Tag alias: character_request -> unknown_character

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag alias #69373 character_request -> unknown_character has been rejected.

Reason: Or reversed, either way, these tags refer to the same thing.

character_request:

Characters that have a name but require identification.

This tag should be used if you know that the character is named but you can't recall it, or if you don't know their English name.

unknown_character:

Posts with this tag include a character, or characters, whose name is possibly unknown to the uploader or any other user. This comes into use when a user may be able to identify the character(s) on display.

Personally I think the reverse would be better, but...

EDIT: The tag alias character_request -> unknown_character (forum #400842) has been rejected by @Nimphia.

Maybe it should be used instead for one-of misc. character designs that don't have names and identities? Like unknown_species. (Although unknown_species' wiki needs a rewrite to remove the overlap with species_request, currently the wiki says it does double duty but that's not helpful since we already have a tag for that use)

Edit: actually this is kinda what anonymous_character is i think? Nevermind

Yeah we have anonymous_character, nameless_character, etc.

I might reject the above and suggest the reverse though because I feel like character_request is better as it clarifies that if possible the character should be tagged more upfront I feel?
