remove alias female_on_monster (0) -> female (2546883)
remove alias male_on_monster (2) -> male (2503565)
create alias human_on_monster (84) -> teratophilia (2038)
create alias micro_on_monster (0) -> teratophilia (2038)
create alias anthro_on_monster (0) -> teratophilia (2038)
create alias male_human/female_monster (0) -> teratophilia (2038)
create alias human/monster (0) -> teratophilia (2038)
create implication monster_penetrating (195) -> monster (44346)
create implication monster_penetrating (195) -> penetration (842562)
create implication monster_penetrating (195) -> teratophilia (2038)
create implication monster_penetrated (14) -> monster (44346)
create implication monster_penetrated (14) -> penetration (842562)
create implication monster_penetrated (14) -> teratophilia (2038)
create implication human_penetrating_monster (3) -> human_penetrating (57189)
create implication human_penetrating_monster (3) -> monster_penetrated (14)
create implication human_penetrating_monster (3) -> teratophilia (2038)

Reason: Use the tag, teratophilia + gender tags (howto:tag genders) and/or one of the penetrating tags (humanoid, human, anthro, feral, intersex, monster) tags such as human_penetrating_monster

I am also changing unaliasing female_on_monster & male_on_monster, then making them an alias of teratophilia

The bulk update request #7995 is pending approval.

create alias human_on_monster (84) -> teratophilia (2038)
create alias anthro_on_monster (0) -> teratophilia (2038)
create alias male_human/female_monster (0) -> teratophilia (2038)
create alias human/monster (0) -> teratophilia (2038)
create alias monster_penetrating (195) -> monster (44346)
create alias monster_penetrated (14) -> monster (44346)
create alias human_penetrating_monster (3) -> teratophilia (2038)

Reason: Alternative
Monsterfucking/teratophilia is a hugely popular genre so I do think it may be worth keeping. Unless there's another way to search for such content?

(skipped micro_on_monster because that's only ever been used 1 time)

And "monster" is such an undefined term that it can be anything from normal every day anthros and ferals, to werewolves and sea creatures, to monstrous beasts, to cosmic horrors that no human can lay eyes on without going mad, so doesn't always involve "monstrous looking" creatures. I've seen sex-related monster tags on serperior porn, because it's a pokemon and they're called "monsters". As well as monster_hunter creatures occasionally getting tagged with it. IMO, it should go like:

alias human_on_monster -> human
alias anthro_on_monster -> anthro
alias male_human/female_monster -> male_human
alias human/monster -> human
alias monster_penetrating -> penetration
alias monster_penetrated -> penetration
alias human_penetrating_monster -> human_penetrating

And monster should either be invalidated or disambiguated in favor of monstrous or monstrous-looking (or something, I'm not sure those are the best terms either).

Yea, monstrous-looking would make it clearer. Maybe then it wouldn't get tagged for Undertale Boss Monsters, etc. But that'd be very unwieldy for combos. human_on_monstrous_looking...

I'm not a huge fan of the name, "terat" isn't exactly a commonly known root.

Common enough to have 3k+ fics on ao3. Those who are into teratophilia know the word, those who aren't... probably don't need to use the tag.

I don't think I like those in either case. "Monstrous looking" is a particular form or anything, so I don't think pairing it with forms is appropriate. But I don't mind having a tag like teratophilia for a monstrous-looking creature with non-monstrous creature, though like other -philia tags I would worry about it being used on posts that have monstrous creatures only and isn't depicting the -philia, but is merely for someone interested in it.

It is a form tag in the sense that in encompasses a lot of forms that don't fit under any other existing body type (and has monstrous humanoid, a definite form tag, implicated to it.)
I suppose those could just go under something like unusual form. I don't much like that tag group, though. unusual is subjective, and tags in that group tend to get tagged for more than they were intended for.

honestly, I feel like abomination is the better tag name. it dosn't have the same watered down connotation that "monster" has earned after decades of TTRPGs, video games, and other pieces of media using the term for every non-human creature.

I dunno, what about the people who have an interest in it but don't know what it's called?

the tag list is supposed to try to be human legible by as many users as possible, that means we probably should be avoiding weird latin words that people give their fetishes to make them sound cool, the same way we try to avoid using japanese loanwords for fetishes *cough* omorashi *cough*.

Oh, that's a good one. Could work. Certainly less ambiguous than 'monster', and fits with the eldritch abomination tag. Could have that as subtag (tagged for cosmic horrors, as per current usage), with more generic horrors as the base tag.

This could even tie into what to do with the what tag. Plenty of content there that'd fit under 'abomination', if nowhere else.

They'd search for monsterfucking, which is aliased to teratophilia

would they, though?

what I've observed from comments on posts, there are a lot of users who find new interests just from seeing something on the tag list of a post; I can personally say that my experience has been similar. that only works when the tagname is actually readable, though, if it's just effectively a random string of letters it loses that.
