Topic: What the hell happend to SayUncle??

Posted under General

For those unaware SayUncle was a rising star of an artist with a gorgeous and very unique art style, then suddenly about 8 years ago he disappeared from the internet, poof.
Not a single word, and it pains me that I never got closure and I am freaking out that something awful happend.

Has anybody heard ANYTHING of what happend? I need closure about what happend to my fav. artist..

They worked together on many projects and I assume they had some kind of deeper relationship, they both disappeared seemingly at the same time.

See topic #26803.

Their webcomic was allowed to be preserved here because their websites went down, alongside their Patreon. No new activity on their social pages and galleries.
Artists can disappear for various reasons (e.g., taking a super long & unannounced hiatus, personal reasons, some other things, etc.) but your guess is as good as mine.

mhhh, looks like that furry artists dissapearing from the internet to never be seen again is more common than i thought

Most probably think it's just a "phase", get tired of it or they want to go legit and it's just better to just don't do anything and abandon their profiles.

I know of 1 artist who was massively popular back in the time on FurAffinity but decided to move to a new alias (and even website on FurryNetwork) without telling anyone.
I only realised it when they had mistakenly signed their new artwork with their old signature.

When I asked them about it, they revealed that they were indeed the same artist but wanted to "start anew" without all the popular attention.
So much so that they had requested for me not to repost their work here for as long as possible to avoid people finding them out/gaining too much popularity.

Now they are equally as popular as they were before and had even moved back to FA under the new alias. Their old account still remains dormant.
By now, most (if not all) of their artworks are already posted here on e621 and I can see some people in the comments even deducing that they are the same artist.
Though their artist tags remain separated since there weren't any solid links to connect them together.

Yea probably, also it's kinda weird to think that some artist for one reason to another completely dissapeared from the internet and the only thing proving their existence is an link that now leads to nowhere or an abandoned site/profile
Like i found a few galleries of some artists that were left untouched for over 25 years
