Topic: Tag implication: neck_gills -> gills

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

There are many other location_gills tags. It would be better to do this as a BUR for all of them.

admittedly not a fish expert but would this be considered the default? Seems like the vast majority of gills -external_gills is neck gills

Yeah, this is my main issue with this tag. You could argue that this only applies to anthro/humanoid/non-fish ferals etc. by stating that real fish don't actually have necks, which is essentially correct but I'm not really sure we can expect people to tag that reliably...

I've only ever seen this used to tag anthro characters whose gills are on their necks, which is how I always use the tag as well. Much more rarely I see characters who have their gills on the sides of their chest, but to my knowledge we don't have a tag for that. I think creating a wiki page for this tag, a tag for "torso gills", and then distinguishing between the two on their pages as well as the main gill page would be a good start for avoiding confusion.

It's certainly common, but scrolling through shows enough posts with gills in other locations that I'm not comfortable with calling it the "default", especially since that supposed default doesn't correspond to any IRL counterpart.
