Okay so a new user starts off with 10 posts and can post more based on approved posts minus deleted posts as shown by the little formula on the profile page.

Why has mine gone from 10 to 5?

You have a lot of pending posts that need to be approved first before your limit will go back up.

No thats not what I mean.

The formula was always displayed as:

10 + (Approved Posts / 10) - (Deleted Posts / 4) - Pending Posts = Remaining posts

Now mine is:

5 + (Approved Posts / 10) - (Deleted Posts / 4) - pending Posts = Remaining posts

The initial value has been halved.

Interesting, it does appear as though it was changed, not sure why.

Well, it says:
"Base Upload Limit" + (Approved / 10) - (Deleted / 4) - Pending = Remaining

Or you did something wrong or a mod was pissed at you
Probaly the first one, since records say "No DNP", even that's much for only one.
When did you noticed this?

Edit: Weird, I checked several users and all had 10 posts as base limit. Also checked Moderator Actions and User Recods (what I could, Members don't have access to everything) and found nothing :/

i noticed it today. i had a few reposts, mainly due to my using google image search to see if they were already posted...i only posted one DNP (recieved a neutral mark for it too), so I am not sure why I had 5 posts taken away from my post count but its very odd.

5 + (259 / 10) - (13 / 4) - 29 = -2
5 is the base limit, this is only an issue for new accounts ( 259 / 10 ) you're total post limit is accounted as X divided by ten {1 / 10 = 10} - 13 /4 {Your deleted posts remove 1 upload per every 4 deleted images, so 13 / 4 = how many uploads from your total are removed} - 29 {Pending posts} = -2 again, not sure WHY your base limit got lowered, will look into it further but it shouldn't really be hampering you.

Well other than the fact that I can post 5 less images than I could before, yes it does not hamper me. Still 5 images is like 50 approved posts, so it does affect my ability to upload.

Ah, signed integers. It's curious, though, that you aren't overflowing into a negative post count. I suppose somthing is casting the arithmetic into 64-bit math.

I don't want to bug mods with PMs about this but is there any kind of information as to why this has happened? It may not seem like a big deal, but I enjoy sharing images here and this just debilitates that. 5 posts isn't much, but its 5 posts I would still like to be able to share.

Maybe the total sum of base upload limits must always be 10 * total number of users, so one of mods is taking away your limit to rise his/her own. :P

Actually, that'd just bring my limit to 3/4 what it is. Plus, I don't even know if that many pieces of anthro art exist... and it's not like I can't just edit my base limit into the negatives :P
