Topic: Tag implication: fitting_room -> clothing_store

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag implication #63798 fitting_room -> clothing_store is pending approval.

Reason: Fitting rooms already heavily imply that the subjects trying on clothes are in the store, seeing if they like it or if it fits before purchase. It is of note that fitting rooms are separate from dressing_room, changing_room, changing_booths and locker_room tags, and would stand distinct from their counterparts.

Fitting rooms aren't exclusive to stores, you can have them at film studios, for example.

Those would be Changing or Dressing rooms, would they not? We already have seperate tags for both of those. Fitting Rooms should be exclusive to stores, while the others can apply to places like studios, beaches, backstages, etc.

EDIT: The dressing room page mentions fitting rooms being made for Stores and malls, while Green Room refers to theaters and studios. Rooms like those for on beaches can receive a changing booth or changing room tag instead of fitting room.

My bad, they do have different names. Still, would it be useful to have fitting rooms show up when searching for clothing shop? They're kind of different things, despite being in the same location.

Fitting rooms are not exclusive to clothing stores. You can find them in generic markets, flea markets, swap meets, etc. Imply to store, maybe. But not clothing store.

Hmm....I kind of see your point. The wiki doesn't have a definition for clothing store yet, so I guess we should ask if the tag applies if a store has clothes and a room to try them on in, or is exclusive to the sale of clothes?
