That's a mass-uploading feature. i don't think e6 has that available for members.

This has been suggested before it was turned down because a lot of things can go wrong with this. Users could spam the site with troll shit, irrelevant images/low quality images, etc. Also, it's going to create more work for us admins since there would probably a lot more uploads than usual that we have to approve/delete.

I don't see a problem with it and in fact it's been on the todo list for a long time, it's just that we haven't gotten around to doing it yet.

In the meantime, I have a mass uploader available at http://tonyfox.ws/e621/upload (it only supports image URLs though, not uploading from your computer).

That's pretty neat; I'll have to remember that one! *bookmarked*

Just curious, do you think this is the sort of thing that is likely to be a priv+ only feature if/when it does get rolled out?

Opening a lot of images in different tabs is not a problem when you just want to upload troll images. It is a problem when you upload long comic and want to tag it correctly. Besides there is upload limit feature to fight troll pics/etc. You could even make mass posting only available for users with upload limit equal or higher then some threshold or make it accessible only to priv+ if you're afraid of trolling that much. Just turning down such features because of trolls is like cutting the head off in fear of hay fever.

I'm mainly uploading pics from my computer. I don't know even if it could handle pixiv, since direct pixiv links give 403 error. :(

You could use a 3rd party image host like imgur.com and use those urls. I don't know if that would actually be easier, but it's another option at least.

(imgur specific) Note that for unless you have a pro account it has an automatic, very slight amount of compression (also they remove metadata, but e6 probably does that too) on all of the files uploaded there. It's barely noticeable unless you zoom in, but it's something to keep in mind. Other hosting sites might have something similar (whether they tell you about it upfront or not).

I'm not completely against it, I'm just cautious with the idea.

Lol, I guess its all a matter of perspective, but the compression I see from imgur is painfully bad. Not the worst compression for sure, but still bad. Its probably just me though xD

I might suggest uploading to google drive and making the files shareable instead. From what I can tell, you don't get any compression on image files smaller than 20MB.

It really depends on the picture. Comics and highly detailed textures take a huge hit though you're definitely right there. I mostly use imgur for sharing stuff where compression doesn't matter a whole lot or when I want to strip the metadata off a picture but don't have access to a computer (since you don't even need to log in).

I never thought of using google drive though; that might be a good alternative.

1. Go to the top of the page and click "Posts"
2. Once on there, go to the top of the page and click "Upload"

It should take you here

Along with what husky said, if you use Xch3l's "eSix extend" script there's a handy dandy little bar of buttons in the top right. One of those buttons is U for upload. If you think youre going to use the site a lot, you might wanna look into that, right here :D

It's the upload button right underneath the 'My Account' button. XP
