These are features I've been thinking for a long time would improve the experience on this site immensely.

First of all, some kind of "For You" page (that doesn't need to be its name) where the site shows you both the latest posts from artists you follow (yeah, that would need to be a new feature in and of itself), and posts with many tags that frequently appear in your favorites. It would make discovering pieces you'd probably like much easier and quicker than it currently is.

Second, the ability to sort by post score rather than chronological order when making any search.

Third, a "Search Similar" feature in which every post shows you at the bottom a few of the latest posts with a similar assortment of tags (just like when you see the details of a tag and you can see the lastest posts that use it), and you have the option to exit the post and see all the posts similar to the previous one (like Google's Reverse Image Search), in a conventional search arrangement.

I know these features would be pretty complicated to implement, but I hope the staff at least reads and considers my suggestions. Thank you.

I second this! I've always wanted a feature like this too, my solution has been a notepad with links to my favorite artists (obviously very inconvenient). Al lot of the time one of my favs posts art and I don't see it for weeks or months afterwards. Tagged along with following regular tags it'd be such a great feature :D

The site used to let you subscribe to/follow tags, but it hit performance too much and was disabled, following artists would be the same thing as that, so probably won't happen

You can search by order:score. See e621:cheatsheet#sorting for more kinds of orderings

We have Visually Similar on e6 button in the Related section in the post page, though that is unlikely to provide you what you're looking for.

Your suggested method of considering the tags would be intrinsically flawed; the posts could match in many general tags like speech bubble, countershading, or outside, while disagreeing on things like age, gender, form, rating or artstyle. The suggested remedy of putting weights on the tags would require quite a bit of effort (not too mention new tags need them too), and each tags relative importance would vary from person to person, or even post to post.

Try searching ~artistname1 ~artistname2 ~artistname3 ... ~artistname40 To see the latest posts of up to 40 artists
You can put it ({{~artistname1 ~artistname2 ~artistname3 ... ~artistname40}}) in your profile info to be able to access the search through your profile

https://re621.app has a feature that lets you subscribe to tags, it updates them hourly (while you have e6 open)

We're very unlikely to ever get the first one natively because as Tarrgon said, we had it and it was a performance nightmare, so it was gutted
As for the third one it isn't.. impossible, but still unlikely as we have things higher on the priority list that also aren't getting done

Additionally, the Wolf Stash app for Android phones has that feature too, with intervals between 30m-24h to get notifications. Just enable 'Following' in settings. You can add any tag search combo, including pools.

I use the eSixNotifier Telegram Bot for the purpose of following artists that don't post elsewhere and certain tag searches I enjoy, although it's far from perfect. It only looks at the first revision of the tags on a post, which means it can miss stuff.
