it's a penis

But what if it's an ambiguous penis?

I dunno. Does this really apply in all cases?

interesting point here

If a penis is distinctly penislike then I won't argue with that, but what about when a penis is more penisish or even penisy? Surely these alternate penises slip through the cracks here and there.

I'm not sure. We'll have to see more penis before a decision is made.

Something like this might be worth considering:

penis

Have we decided as a society on what the multiple of penis ought to be?

Much better.

Cautionary advice, though:
penis -> penis will conflict with
penis -> penis if we ever decide to alias
penis -> penis.

To avoid that:
penis -> penis instead of
penis -> penis.
