Perhaps drooling would be a better target? Since saliva is formed in the mouth, and saliva coming out of/dripping from the mouth is the definition of drooling.

I think saliva_drip also includes saliva dripping off of other things, like a penis, same way cum_drip includes cum dripping out of a penis or an orifice.

saliva_dripping is already aliased to saliva_drip, so aliasing dripping_saliva to a different tag probably wouldn't be a good idea.
Though all images that have the tag dripping_saliva I looked at would indeed fit the criteria for drooling.

Now that I think of it, would't all images that feature drooling also count as saliva_drip?
Should there be an implication from drooling to saliva_drip?

According to the tag wiki (and Google), "drooling" is "when saliva flows outside the mouth (involuntarily)", which probably counts as a drip, although there seems to be a lot of posts tagged drooling which should just be tagged saliva.

Even one of the examples in the drooling tag wiki (post #639464) doesn't seem to be drooling, just saliva.

I think drooling -> saliva_drip would be proper, though, screw the mistags.

I would try to create a BUR for that, but I have no Idea how to create one within an existing forum thread. :/

Do it as usual, except do not fill in the title and go to the bottom of the form, under the item called forum topic, and place the topic number of this thread (45387) in there

A lot of what I'm seeing under saliva_drip is just saliva dripping from the tip of an extended tongue. Does that still count as drooling, or is that only when it comes out from the mouth directly rather than just dripping off the tongue...? If so, it may make sense to keep them as entirely separate tags. If not, maybe just alias saliva_drip to drooling. I understand that saliva_drip may, in theory, be used for saliva dripping from other things entirely, like genitals, but it rarely, if ever, seems to be used that way in practice.

One problem with the above BUR, though, is that drooling (nearly 100k posts) will drown out any non-drooling saliva_drip posts (7.6k posts), so it may be better to keep them as separate concepts if that tag is to be kept at all.

I'd say it should count. The tag definition for drooling is when saliva flows outside the mouth and I think the tongue is considered part of the mouth.

The first example image also shows an image with saliva dripping from the tip of a tongue.
Though, the third example image just shows an image with saliva on the tongue with no dripping at all, which I'd argue shouldn’t count as drooling.

If saliva_drip is kept as a separate tag to fit the definition for saliva dripping from other things, the definition should probably be changed to exclude drooling.
This would cause a lot of mistags, since from the name alone that wouldn't be clear.

Perhaps saliva_drip could be used as an umbrella term and a new tag like saliva_drip_from_other_things (There should be a better name for that though) could then be used for these cases to make this less ambiguous.

I've also noticed there is also a tag called drooling_tongue, which I think should imply drooling (depending on if that counts as drooling) or saliva_drip and saliva_on_tongue as well (for saliva to visibly drip from a tongue, at least some of it needs to be on the tongue itself).
