Topic: [REJECTED] Tag alias: bee_sting -> arthropod_sting

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag alias #71716 bee_sting -> arthropod_sting has been rejected.

Reason: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthropod_bites_and_stings#Biting_and_stinging_arthropods

A lot of critters are able to sting, such as ants, wasps and scorpions. This tag is too specific, better to either alias it or create implications for all of them

EDIT: The tag alias bee_sting -> arthropod_sting (forum #414500) has been rejected by @gattonero2001.

It's specific, because it's a fairly specific fetish. I'd think the logical thing to do would be to implicate it to "stinging" and just call it done, I don't think it'd be wise to not give a way to filter out the fetish version of this from the mundane/violent version.

+1 to this, makes the most sense to me. Have sting or stinging be the umbrella tag and imply bee_sting to it.

Maybe a few other things like scorpion_sting could exist, but eh, sting alone is probably good enough for anything that isn't a bee sting.

There's also fish and reptiles that can sting, so narrowing it down to arthropods wouldn't be much help either.

if we were going to alias it upwards like this it should probably be to something like hymenopteran_sting so it'd include stuff like wasps without including literally all stinging insects and arachnids.
