Topic: Tag Alias: wooky -> wookiee_(artist)

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

I'd be hesitant about mistags for people who don't know how to spell it if it weren't for the fact that we get so little wookiees around here.

Good point.

In which case it may be better to have "wooky -> wookiee" and then have "wookiee_(artist)" appear as a suggestion at the top of the search results.

But that is with searching in mind. For uploading/tagging, you'd think people should know how to spell the species name "wookiee" and be diligent about disambiguation with the artist of the same name by appending "_(artist" to it, whereas "Wooky" is established as an alternate of an artist name on another site.

It looks like the artist called Wookiee prefers "Wooky" over "Wookiee_(artist)", as he seems to have reverted all changes made to the existing "Wooky" images.

Perhaps we should consider aliasing "wookiee_(artist)" to "wooky".

Wooky_(artist) would work better. The suggestions for Wooky could refer to both the artist and Wookiee proper.

It does look like that's what they prefer, and it matches with their herpy account, so I went ahead and made the following changes:

Alias: wooky -> wookie_(artist) (OP denied)
Alias: wookie_(artist) -> wooky (approved)

It does seem weird to alias an *_(artist) tag to something, but there doesn't seem to be much reason not to.
