Topic: All images disappear when I log in

Posted under Site Bug Reports & Feature Requests

The site functions and appears completely normally when I'm logged out, but when I log in, all posts and all of their images disappear from seemingly every page. This affects searches, favorites, avatars, and even pages for individual posts. Not even the status bar under thumbnails that shows an image's score, favorites, and number of comments is visible. Is this a bug or am I like, shadowbanned or something?

that kinda seems like everything is getting blacklisted or something. although, for user avatars it'd show the Blacklisted image, so...

do you use Re621 or any other userscript that might conflict?
anything in your custom CSS (Settings -> Advanced) that might be causing a problem?

It's definitely not a blacklist thing, since the list of blacklisted tags (shown below the search bar) and even blacklisted avatars are all gone too.
I don't have any custom CSS, and am not using any plugins that would affect the layout of the site. Nothing in my settings seem like they'd cause this problem either, and I also didn't change anything in my settings (including my blacklist) since the last time the site was working normally. The issue affects the site on both my PC and my phone.
There's not even the error message that appears when you search for a tag combination that doesn't have any results. The page is just entirely blank, as if I had blacklisted everything, but again, the blacklisted tags list is also gone.

I'd say ad blocker acting up, but if it's happening the same way on multiple browsers/devices, I'm not sure and also it only happening when you're logged in-- I'm not sure that'd make sense. hmm...

I think there was a similar problem with browsers on iOS and Safari in general acting weird unless you turned JavaScript off, but I feel like that's been fixed since I haven't seen people with that issue it in a while.

the only troubleshooting things I can think of at this point would be to try a different browser on your PC (in safemode/with all plugins off), if you haven't. and after that creating a new e6 account and then you can tell for sure if the issue is somehow attached to your account or just being logged in, for some reason. also just looking at inspect element, but if you don't know what you're supposed to be looking at I'm not sure how much that'd help.

Snip

I disabled my ad blocker just to make sure it wasn't that, and I don't have any plugins on my phone. Other accounts on the same devices work just fine, it's only this one.

For me it doesn't even work on my phone while I'm logged in, so I assume it might be a chrome issue, since the android version doesn't have ad lockers

it's a bug with the blacklisting code when trying to hide users and having a blacklist item that starts with a ~. in your settings, either turning off Blacklist users or editing your blacklist to not have any lines start with ~ will fix the problem.

That's not true.
The problem was caused by a combination of "Blacklist Users" being on with a blacklist line containing ONLY optional tags.

Should be fixed now, though.

then I must have messed up somewhere in my testing methodology. it was like 4 AM before I actually had access to a PC so I could actually test anything, so that's not surprising.
