Imo both this and maned_lioness (which is currently aliased to lion) should be aliased to mismatched_sexual_dimorphism. I do think this is a concept worthy of tagging.

It is possible mismatched might not be the best word though, I'm not sure, hopefully some trans people can weigh in?

Your friendly neighborhood tranny bio guy chiming in- it's not exactly accurate. Maned lionesses are fairly common in older girls. Older female birds of species with pronounced dimorphism (chickens, peafowl, etc) also can get masculine features.
Young males may also be late bloomers with developing their sexual characteristics.
And that's not even touching intersex conditions.

That said the features are mismatched according to human expectations. It's also likely that the artist chose those features for that reason, as opposed to accurately portraying a peahen going through menopause.

Well yes, I didn't mean all those characters are canonically trans lol, I just wanted to make sure the word "mismatched" wouldn't be offensive when talking about sexual characteristics. The tag is for any maned lioness, doe with antlers, bright red female cardinal or brown male cardinal, male tortoiseshell cat, etc. regardless of lore.

Updated

The bulk update request #9190 is active.

create alias doe_with_antlers (10) -> mismatched_sexual_dimorphism (291)
remove alias maned_lioness (0) -> lion (66922)

Reason: Alternative BUR to set up the mismatched_sexual_dimorphism tag

After:

alias maned_lioness -> mismatched_sexual_dimorphism

Blocked transitive is from the original post in this thread

EDIT: The bulk update request #9190 (forum #418176) has been approved by @spe.

What's funny is that almost all of the posts under this tag (about 500) were tagged on reindeer, which is not mismatched sexual dimorphism, as female reindeer actually do have antlers. I have removed all of those from this tag in anticipation of aliasing it, though I now wonder if this will cause a bunch of mistags or not as people attempt to add this tag to posts of female reindeer. Then again, they might add this tag anyway, as it doesn't seem to be terribly common knowledge that female reindeer do have antlers.
That said, this tag definitely seems too specific to keep around (and sort of pointless since such a large subcategory of does naturally have antlers anyway), and mismatched_sexual_dimorphism is a little-known tag, so aliasing to that might aid discoverability of the tag at the expense of some potential mistags. If the mistags become too much in the future, we can always consider removing the alias later.
