Topic: Any updates on BuzzlyArt?

Posted under General

I made this thread from 2 years about BuzzlyArt's crash-and-burn, and suffice to say, I'm starting a new thread about the updates.

I was browsing on Postybirb's Discord server a week ago about website requests and the mention of BuzzlyArt being requested there sparked my curiosity.
The guy who recommended BuzzlyArt told me that after the drama, a new staff took rein on the site. He said that there was a post that made the site better, be couldn't remember that post.

I googled a bit on BuzzlyArt, and so far, there are only Reddit posts and DeviantArt journals about the drama from 2 years ago.

Has there been any updates about BuzzlyArt, and would I dare sign up there if there's no proof it improved from 2 year ago, as I already have signed up for SheezyArt (which came back in 2024)?

Buzzly had over 0.2 million submissions in 2022, but the vast majority of those came in the first 2.5 months or so of 2022, before their upload policy changed.

In 2023, Buzzly had fewer than 0.025 million submissions. In 2024, Buzzly will probably have fewer submissions than that.

As a comparison, FurAffinity is on track to have roughly 4.5 million submissions in 2024, and e621 will probably have over 0.7 million submissions in 2024.

Furbitron is not affiliated with any of the art sites it monitors.

thank you mr and or mrs and or ms and or mx bot

It basically has almost nothing going for it anymore. It's original claim of notability was that it was run and operated by artists with developers assisting.

Well all those artists have since bailed and the most of the developers left as well, and is basically run by a lingering developer which according to the news posts is bleeding money running the site.

Bumping this a little bit. I'm gonna want more answers, maybe even journals or posts from Buzzly, if the improvement is true or not. I'm having conflicting info from Postybirb's Discord server that some say it's okay, and I have have to ask for journals or posts to prove it.

Furbitron has recorded that Buzzly got about 0.011 million submissions in all of 2024, as compared to 0.018 million in all of 2023.

Compare that to 4.36 million submissions on FurAffinity in all of 2024, or 0.77 million submissions on e621 in all of 2024.

This got bumped by Furbitron, and judging by the submissions, it got fewer in 2024, which I feel like it's not a good sign...
What about its total userbase?

buzzly.art is effectively on life support while its competitor sheezy.art strives.

similarweb suggests there are 29k monthly visitors while sheezy.art has 195k. there are 20 uploads a maximum per day of 5 users uploading there

because of its history of controversies and mismanagement by the staff that conflicts with their userbase's beliefs, it's the straw that broke the buzzly's back. there are barely anyone who give this site a chance anymore. there is also a digestible twitter thread that covers the context

I skimmed much of the Twitter theead at the time, but since I can no longer read the whole thing because of you-know-who (I know that there's an Unroll plugin regarding long Twitter threads, not sure if there's a full post of it), here's a supplemental Reddit post to people who missed the drama.
