The tag alias #72379 clasping -> mating_grip has been approved.

Reason: According to both their wiki pages and the images tagged with them, the tags seem to mean the same thing.

I'd reverse it since imo mating_grip is more intuitive.

That's fine. I don't care as long as they're both under one tag.

Is this tag really necessary? I feel that the vast majority of mounting posts will have this.
If it is kept, what is the difference between it and hip_grab?

A lot of the waist_grab tags also overlap with hip_grab and mating_grip

There's a couple of things going on here. So:

- I'd agree with combining the contents of mating_grip and clasping. They do seem to be being used for the same thing. +1

- Not really sold on 'clasping' being the tag name. That's a bit like naming it all "gripping/grabbing/holding" in a way. "mating_grip" is at least better for it. So that's a tentative +1 for flipping it to go clasping -> mating_grip instead.

- On the similarity to waist_grab / hip_grab:
At first impression I was wondering about this. But after looking through all of the images under clasping and then under mating_grip, I think it has enough merit to keep as a tag. It is a very distinctive type of grab, mostly by feral tops. The way the anatomy kinda 'hooks' over the hips/waist area is a different style vs when hands grab in combos within the same area. And specifying searches for feral + hip_grab or waist_grab mostly results in other combos and positions results (and a lot more "feral being grabbed by other's hands") ...but with very few of this mating_grip type grip. So that doesn't really feel like a replacement to get the same thing. It also would be hard to specify if it should be equivalent to a waist grab, a hip grab, or a type of from-behind embrace. It's sort of a distinct hybrid of the three. As well as being pretty distinctive on its own. So that leaves me with a +1 for keeping a tag for this.
