Topic: No more "A or B" topics

Posted under General

I realize that I am not, in fact, an admin or moderator of any sort, but it has been continuously mentioned recently that there should be no more "A or B" forum posts.

If admins could sticky this to the top or retype it and then sticky it to the top it should serve it's greater purpose...

Then why did you make this thread? Leave it up to the admins/moderators to take care of the problem instead of asking for a sticky.

Because the mods may not think that it's that much of a problem unless it's brought to their attention.

Maybe those locked topics means we need "A or B or C" topics.

Trust me, if the mods are locking threads for being offtopic/not being what they want to see posted in the forum, they're aware of it when people are making too many of them.

Huh. Just occurred to me that this should probably be filed under "Off-Topic", to make sure the Off-Topic people who've been creating all the A/B threads will see it.

I personally feel if an off topic thread is started then with it being off topic... It should be able to be about anything not e6 related, wether its a or b or a deep thought question.

agreed

I think that's only workable with a more conventional forum structure. If Off-Topic is its own forum that doesn't show up on the main forums page, that would be acceptable. But as it is, too many off-topic threads makes it hard to see on-topic threads.

Perhaps a filter system can be utilised?

The good news is that it's planned. The bad news is that there's no indication that it's a priority feature, so you'll probably have to wait a while before the mods lighten up on off-topic threads.
