Are those the same?
I've been using dead the same way as the corpse tag, and death for posts where someone has just died. Headshots and such.
That's probably how I would split them (although I might consider an implication). However, looking at the tags it seems like it's a mix on both sides, particularly when you look at the ~300 posts in death dead.
But really between dead, death, and corpse there isn't much reason to keep all of them.
The only reason I mention this is because there's a couple tags that probably should be implicated to one of them at least (which I submitted earlier).

I've looked through this pretty thoroughly and they both seem to be tagged for corpses and death/dying/killing/etc. There's really not much reason to keep both of them and I don't think the tag names make it any clearer. I would have said to alias one of them to corpse instead to help with cleanup, but there's a lot in there that don't really fit well under that anyways.
Therefore, I've now approved this and made death the go-to tag for death and dying, leaving corpse to pick up the "post-death lying on the ground" sort of meaning (also it implies death now).
