Topic: Can’t flag a post for not meeting the guidelines

Posted under Site Bug Reports & Feature Requests

I’m trying to flag post #5101155 because I know that the artist for it is currently underaged but for some reason when I go to flag the post the “does not meet uploading guidelines” option just isn’t there and I have no clue why this is happening

uploading guidlines flags can only be made prior to approval. but this should probably be handled through a report anyway, since you can provide additional information that way.

What reason do I pick for reporting a post in this situation? Cus I tried that but when I looked at the available reasons none of them seemed to fit

It is a bit odd, I've previously had a post approved for an entire year before it got taken down for not meeting quality standards. Approvals are not immovable and absolute.

(I... didn't take it well when I found out that the approval was taken back, but I was a less mature person then.)

Pick anything, we don't pay attention to the default reasons

it dosn't really matter, I'm not sure if the category is even readily visible to the moderator. I think "malicious source" is usually used when reporting something like this, but again, it dosn't matter much as long as the reason box is filled out properly.

It wasn't visible at all for the majority if the time it has existed, it only started being visible to us within the last few years
Even then we just ignore it because it isn't useful information
I've said we should just get rid of it entirely

I feel like it could potentially be useful on the user end sort of just "Hey, this is what the reasons you can report for." although you then still have the problems of cases like this one where not all of the potentially viable report reasons have reasons on the list.

That's exactly what it exists for, it doesn't prevent bad reports
It prevents good reports because the reason list is too generic and a ton of things to report for aren't there
