Are they all of the domestic variety? Could it not also refer to white lions, tigers, and bears oh my leopards, and other "cats"? See also topic #38387, trying to deal with posts getting mistagged as domestic_cat and domestic_dog because "cat" and "dog" tags are aliased to domestic_cat and domestic_dog specifically despite being common terms for felids and canids in general (non-domestic types too, e.g. lions and tigers being referred to as "big cats"). This might be better aliased to feline or felid instead.

All except one post in the tag contains just domestic cats, or domestic cats hybridized with some other animal, and the only exception is a bit ambiguous.

I wouldn't say that's ambiguous. It doesn't look like a domestic, and it's even tagged pantherine already (that it was also tagged domestic_cat just goes to show my point that people use "cat" too generically to assume it means domestic_cat). There's also a bunch of posts the tag has been removed from already, some of which are ambiguous like

I know cats have historically been given an exception and allowed to have color_species tags but maybe getting rid of these basic ones can be a nice stepping stone into getting rid of all of them.
Perhaps aliasing to leucistic would be better. They might be lions, tigers, and bears oh my leopards instead of domestic cats, but their notable physical characteristic is that they're white in color, that is to say, leucistic.
Weren't they all only on Kat's character? I was actually checking to make sure it wasn't some character name, but nope, white feline was the intent. White cat Gatomon is another example of a 'white cat', yes.
