Topic: Can you put a series in both a set and a pool?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

G'day e621 users!

I've recently uploaded both a set and pool for a comic series sourced from here, and I'm not sure if I should delete the set and just keep the pool, or am able to keep both.

So my question is, can you have a series under both a pool and set or should it only be one of them?

P.S. I'm relatively new to e621 so please excuse me for not knowing how things work around here

Thanks in advance <3,
Fookie

You can, but there's no reason to. Pools are just sets but better*, and if it's eligible to be a pool you don't need to make it a set.

  • In some ways (especially in your case), worse in others

I'll delete the set then

Just in case it wasn't clear enough, pools are what you officially use for comics and series of related artworks. It gets a special navigation bar on the top of the post for easier browsing, and posts can be placed into page order and even into multiple pools at once.
On the other hand, sets are basically glorified "favourites" folders, which you can share publicly or keep private. It functions like a personal archive or selection of posts that usually have a common theme to them (depending on how the creator uses it). It does not have a special navbar like pools and cannot be sorted by page order.
