The tag alias #73391 belly_scales -> ventral_scales has been approved.

Reason: Ventral scales is the more accurate term, not only because it's Wikipedia's preferred term, but because it refers to the entire row of scales on the underside of the creature, covering areas like the neck and the underside of the head, not just the belly as the current tag name implies. In fact, belly_scales is currently tagged on a bunch of posts where the belly isn't even visible, though they are still ventral scales.

I do feel a implication might be better of belly scales to ventral scales but alas..

As far as posts that don't feature belly platting go that is possibly in part the result of the wiki both the op and my description for it that has been in use since 2016 featuring an exception for other types of ventral platting that never ended up updated uu
